The following statement was released to the Press on January 24th, 2013:
BELLINGHAM, WA – January 24, 2013. The Board of Directors of the Bellingham Real Estate Investor Network (BREIN) are pleased to announce that effective February 1st, 2013 the organization will legally change its name to BellREIA, (pronounced BELL-REE-AH) an acronym for Bellingham Real Estate Investors Association.

As well as changing the name, the Board also voted to move the venue from the BIAWC to the Atlantis Room in the Quality Inn on Meridian.
“While we’ve enjoyed the building and atmosphere the BIAWC very much,” says President, Kevin Hall. “We felt that moving our monthly meetings to Meridian Street would help with our attendance and give the group a fresh start going into 2013 under the new name.”
The BREIN group has been operating as a non-profit real estate club since June 2006 offering education and networking opportunities for anyone with an interest in investing, or companies and individuals involved in auxiliary industries such as lenders and contractors. The membership-based BREIN has had over 420 members join up at local meetings and via the website since its inception. Along with the networking aspect, members and guests enjoy education from local, national speakers and educators covering a wide range of topics within the industry.
Real estate investing has seen its challenges over the last five years but the group’s new president is very optimistic for the future.
“The attendance and membership numbers definitely took a hit in 2008, as many got out of the industry altogether.” said Hall. “We’ve witnessed a few other regional real estate groups south of Bellingham close up shop, but with the help of our loyal members and background support from the National REIA, we’ve held on.”
Hall adds, “We’ve seen a definite comeback over the last year and plenty of new faces wanting to take advantage of what our group can offer to help further their real estate goals.”
Hall assures that current BREIN members will continue to receive complimentary entry to meetings, and members will see no interruption in the exceptional local and national vendor discounts they already enjoy.
“The change of name and venue are logistical alterations that we feel are necessary to further the Group’s original mission statement ‘to educate real estate investors and inspire them to ethically achieve success’. Hall adds, “A name change paired with a brand new meeting location feels like the right step in breathing new life into the world of real estate investing and to continue to achieve this group’s mission.”
